All of us are faced with one medical ailment or the other in the course of our lives.  There is no one, who is free from all and any types of disease in this world.  Therefore, you need not lose hope if you have been diagnosed with migraine.  With proper care and minimum medication, you can ensure that you lead a happy and fulfilling life.

A migraine may be defined as severe pain in the head, usually confined to only one side of the brain.  The duration for which the migraine lasts differs from person to person, but certain symptoms have been found linked to all, providing a general way to describe and hence find a cure for the disease.  Generally, the migraine pain is associated with other phenomenon, such as hypersensitivity to light and sound.  Other accompanying effects are nausea and vomiting, just after the migraine starts to subside.

However, you need not lose heart if you have been diagnosed with it.  With the advancement of science and technology at breathtaking speed in today's world, it has been made possible to conquer migraine and lead the life that you have always wished.

Taking certain precautions and maintaining a proper lifestyle are the first steps that you need to take to control migraine.  Doctors have always stressed the need to work as per your body clock, to derive optimum results from your body.  Exercising for 25-30 minutes a day goes a long way towards controlling your migraine.  Simple exercises like jogging, running and swimming are enough to keep you going.  What is most important is that you decide on and stick to a routine, rather than exercising for 2 hours one day and then feeling so stressed out that you are unable to workout for the next few days.

Stressing yourself too much is also a bad idea if you have migraine.  No matter how taxing your life may be, de-stress your life and pace it at a rate that you are comfortable with.  Work only five days a week, if possible and keep the other two days for yourself and your family, to maintain proper harmony in both your professional and personal life.

Other treatments like massage therapy and physical therapy have also been proven to bring migraine under control.  Simple massage works on de-stressing the muscles of the body and de-toxifying the body using herbal chemical agents, so that the patient feels relaxed and enters a peaceful state of mind.  However, these therapies must be performed only by certified qualified professionals; otherwise, they could result in the onset of a migraine attack, instead of preventing one.

Yoga, an ancient form of spiritual exercises, which originated in
India, claims to not only bring migraine under control, but also cure it completely.  Through a set of body postures and exercises, it connects the being to the Higher Spirit, relieving the body of the many tensions of the living world and making it enter a state of divine peacefulness and spiritual well-being, that cures the patient of the recurring migraine pain.

Whatever be your status in society and whoever you may be, you need not lose heart if you have been diagnosed with migraine.  In fact, diseases and maladies only bring us back to the reality, that material possessions and advancement is not the only thing to live for.  It brings us face-to-face with the truths of life and gives us strength to conquer all setbacks and live a life we love.
